Steiner Ranch Yoga, locally owned and operated by Melinda Jennings in the beautiful community of Steiner Ranch in Austin, Texas, offers Yoga classes in a variety of formats. Come learn what yoga practitioners have known for over 5000 years in improving their health and physical fitness.
Research supported outcomes and benefits of yoga include increased strength & flexibility, improved balance & posture, increased cognition, increased heart function and improved relaxation. Yoga decreases stress, blood pressure, anxiety and insomnia. Steiner Ranch Yoga classes are taught in a non-competitive, welcoming and friendly format, and students are encouraged to practice at their own level and listen to their bodies. Yoga is, after all, a "practice," not a "performance."
Our signature YOGA 101 Gentle Beginner's Classes are for those who have never practiced yoga before, or for those who are looking to begin an exercise program and need help beginning a practice. These welcoming, friendly classes will give you a great introduction to yoga. Get it right, right from the beginning!
Our Hatha Yoga Classes are for stronger practitioners, and offer mindful movement in a traditional format, with a focus on breath and body awareness. These classes include sun salutations, warriors, downward dogs, triangles, and balancing postures. You'll very likely get a good sweat going in these classes that are a balance between yin and yang.
Our Restorative/Gentle classes offer very gentle movement, along with specific restorative postures that encourage restoring the body and mind.
Mind-body fitness, or "mindful exercise" has been associated with improved muscular strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. But perhaps most importantly from a health and physical fitness viewpoint, increased mental development and self-efficacy. Meditation alone can help quiet hunger cravings, and increase the area of your brain responsible for decision-making.
There is a growing body of scientific evidence supporting various mindful exercise modalities as significant means of improving a variety of health outcomes. Hatha Yoga is perhaps the most practiced form of mindful exercise in the West today and specific Hatha Yoga exercises are particularly helpful for arthritis, postural problems and reducing anxiety.

Classes are held at Villari's Studios located at 4308 North Quinlan Park Road, Suite 202, in Steiner Ranch, directly behind the Steiner Ranch Welcome Center, and across the street from Steiner Ranch Elementary.
